Packaging improvement at Rachana Products
Selecting filling equipment and preparing a packaging process for change.
Result so far
Process mapping and equipment research informed the implementation plan. Completed operating improvements have not been established here.
My contribution
I mapped the process, investigated material-control gaps and compared filling equipment and vendors. I helped prepare the implementation plan and operating checks.
01 / The problem
Where it started.
At Rachana Products, I worked on a packaging process that relied heavily on manual filling. The equipment change was not complete during my role.
The decision
Choose equipment suited to the product and plan the training, responsibilities and operating checks needed to run it.
02 / The approach
How I worked through it.
- 01
Map the filling process and material movement.
- 02
Compare equipment for product compatibility, fill range, servicing and training.
- 03
Support implementation and define responsibilities.
- 04
Plan checks for output, fill accuracy, rework and maintenance.
Workflow
How it works
- 01Map
Understand the existing process and material movement.
- 02Compare
Assess equipment and vendor requirements.
- 03Implement
Support installation, responsibilities and training.
- 04Measure
Check actual performance after the change is running.

In progressImplementation is underway; operating results are not yet established. This case describes work in progress. It does not claim a completed speed increase, labour redeployment or realised savings.
04 / Looking back
What I took away.
The work so far is in diagnosis, equipment selection and implementation support. Production and financial results need to be measured after the change is running.
- Equipment selection needs to account for servicing, operator training and the products being filled.
What I would measure next
Establish a baseline, then measure output, uptime, fill accuracy, rework and actual costs once the line is operating.
